Marketing agency Acorn to create 100 jobs in Dublin

Marketing agency Acorn is to create 100 jobs in Dublin over the next five years to assist its EMEA-based clients and service its offices in Paris, London and Sydney, said Phil Cottier, CEO of Acorn.

Acorn is seeking staff to fill various roles, in IT, finance, management, human resources, creative and digital design, planning, research and campaign production. The company currently employs 100 people, and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland is supporting the new jobs.

Cottier said clients and employees have driven the company’s growth in the last few years.

Last year, Epsilon, an Alliance Data division, acquired Acorn. It designated the Dublin team as the creative services delivery hub for all markets outside North America for Epsilon.

Epsilon’s growth plans include increasing its international footprint and revenue, while capitalising on the shift in marketing and brand spend to a more targeted, data-driven end-to-end solution.

Acorn is also on the hunt for additional office space to accommodate its growth.

Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, said a major part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs is to deepen and develop the impact of multinational companies based in Ireland.

“In the past two years, the sector has shown a net growth of over 12,000 jobs. Today’s announcement that Acorn, a leading company in its sector, is adding 100 jobs in Dublin is very welcome news, and I wish them every success with their operations here,” Bruton said.

Barry O’Leary, CEO IDA Ireland said creative companies like Acorn are exporting ideas, developed in Dublin, across the world.

“Epsilon’s decision to centralise key functions into its Dublin office is a move that is being repeated by many IDA clients,” O’Leary said.

“Acorn’s expansion will enhance Ireland’s reputation as a location for creative and dynamic international businesses to expand into international markets.”
